N-Acetyle glucosamine(NAG) was officially approved as a new food raw material by the National Health Commission on January 24, 2023.
N-Acetyle glucosamine(NAG) is an important component of many important polysaccharides in biological cells. It is a white powder, easily soluble in water, and has anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor and antioxidant effects. In medicine, it is mainly used for osteoarthritis and rheumatism. It is a drug for arthritis; in food, it can be used as an anti-oxidation agent, an additive for infant milk powder, and a regulator for diabetics. It can improve human kidney function, inhibit the excessive growth of pigment, and has inhibitory and therapeutic effects on cancer and malignant tumors.

As the first drafting unit, Runde Bio formulated two industry standards, "N-Acetyl-D-Glucosamine" QB/T 5854-2023 and "Glucosamine" QB/T 5853-2023, which were issued on May 22 this year and implemented on November 1.
